Upload and share your music as an independent artist

DIGITVL is a streaming platform for shows and music with a dedicated creator area, so independent artists can publish their work next to the content people already come to watch and listen to.

What creator accounts can do

DIGITVL has three kinds of accounts: viewers, creators and admins. Viewers browse and listen. Creator accounts get an extra Upload tab in the navigation, which opens the creator upload area. From there you add a file, give it a title and description, choose genres and content types, and attach a thumbnail. You can type your own genre tags or pick from suggestions, so a niche sound is not forced into a box that does not fit it.

Files go straight from your browser to our video infrastructure (Mux), so large uploads do not pass through a slow middle server. A progress bar shows each stage: creating the record, uploading, and finalising. When the upload finishes you get a confirmation and can add another.

Creator access is enabled on an account by the DIGITVL team rather than self-assigned. If you make music and want to publish on the platform, create a free account first so the team has something to enable.

Thumbnails and presentation

First impressions on a streaming platform are visual. You can upload your own cover image, or pick a frame captured from the video itself. Your title, description and tags are what listeners see on the details page, so write them for a person who has never heard of you: say what the track or video is, what it sounds like, and who it is for.

Genres and content types are free-form, which matters for independent artists. Hip-hop, afrobeats, lo-fi, gospel, drill, singer-songwriter and instrumentals are all just tags. Accurate tags are how your upload turns up when someone browses a genre or runs a search.

Where your music shows up

Published content appears in the main Browse experience, and music lives in Music mode, a dedicated player view with trending and new releases, genre browsing and search. Artists have their own page at a clean URL, with a profile and a list of their tracks, so you have something to link from your social bios.

Listeners can like a track with a heart and add it to their own playlists. Those actions are how a song spreads from one listener to the next: a playlist is a recommendation people make for themselves.

Tips for a good first upload

Upload your best, most representative piece first rather than a snippet. Use a real thumbnail, not a blank frame. Fill in the description with context such as the project, the producer or the year. Choose two or three precise genre tags instead of ten vague ones. After it is live, share the link directly with your own audience, because early plays from people who already like you help everything that comes after.

Keep your rights in order before you publish. Only upload music you own or have permission to share, including samples and beats you did not make. If you are registered with a performing rights organization or distribute through a service, uploading here does not replace that, and you should keep those registrations current.

What DIGITVL is not

DIGITVL is not a distributor that pushes your catalog to every store, and it does not promise plays or revenue. It is a place to publish and be discovered inside a platform that also carries shows. If you need wide distribution, use a distributor in addition to this.
